Funeral services for Peggy A. Richey will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 8, 2024, in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel, Lawton, with Pastor Finis Lee, Cox City Baptist Church, Rush Springs, officiating.

Burial will be Friday, March 8, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. in Lawnview Cemetery, Cordell.

Peggy A. Richey, 84, passed away Thursday, Feb.y 29, 2024, in Lawton with family by her side.

Peggy Ann (Morris) Richey was born on May 27, 1939, in Cordell to Roy T. Morris and Georgia L. (Owen) Morris. She was the oldest of eight children and was raised on the family farm east of Cordell. She and her siblings grew up working on the farm. She attended Cloud Chief School in Cloud Chief, and graduated high school in May of 1957. She then married her high school sweetheart, Alvis Richey on June 1, 1957. They moved to Stillwater where they both attended Oklahoma A&M (OSU). While in Stillwater she worked in the business department of the college. They moved to Cache in 1963 when Alvis took a teaching job at Cache Schools. They had three children and celebrated 51 years of marriage before Alvis’s passing in 2008. She was a homemaker and did substitute teaching throughout the years. She provided in-house daycare for many years to numerous teacher’s children. She and Alvis always raised a big garden which kept her busy canning. She loved to watch basketball and was a big fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder and kept all the stats, especially Russell Westbrook. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them.

She is survived by two sons: John C. Richey and daughter-in-law Joyce Richey of Cyril, and Michael W. Richey and daughter-in-law Shannon Richey of Cache; eight grandchildren: Curtis Richey, Thomas Richey, Amanda Spannagel and husband Billy, Robert Richey, Alica Richey, John Lyles, Angelica Fitzpatrick and Justin Lyles; seven great-grandchildren: Anabell Lyles, Elva Lyles, Eowyn Lyles, Scarlet Fitzpatrick, Willow Fitzpatrick, Asher Lyles and Harrison Spannagel; three brothers: Wayne Morris, Gary Morris and wife Mary, and Lynn Morris; three sisters: Patsy Vandeventer and husband Gale, Mary Lee Burns and husband Leon and Sheila Hill and husband Wade.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvis Richey; daughter, Cathy Diane Richey; a granddaughter, Adison Mykel Richey; and a sister Brenda Wade.
