Graveside service for Mayre Shriver will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 15, 2024, at Letitia Cemetery, East of Lawton with Minister James Rennaker, Pastor of Sterling Church of Christ, Sterling, Oklahoma and Rev. Matt Kelly, Pastor of Letitia Baptist Church, east of Lawton, Oklahoma officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mayre Shriver passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024, in Lawton, Oklahoma at the age of 87. She was born July 11, 1937 east of Lawton, Oklahoma to Harry Wayne and Elsie Luella (Engle) Meadville. Mayre graduated from Central High School in 1955. A year later, she married Earl Junior Shriver on June 8, 1956 and they were married for 50 years before Earl passed away in 2006.

Mayre and her husband owned and operated Shriver’s Store, east of Lawton, until its closing in 1997. Mayre enjoyed visiting with the customers and giving free candy to the little kids that came into the store. Following retirement, Mayre enjoyed volunteering for several years at the Comanche County Memorial Hospital gift shop. She was the treasurer for the Cox’s Store Fire Department from 1965 to 2013.

She was a member of the Sterling Church of Christ.

Mayre is survived by a son, Kerry Shriver, east of Lawton, daughter, Earlene Shriver, Lawton, three nieces and one nephew.

Mayre is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Harry William “Bill” Meadville and Graham Wayne Meadville.
