Celebration of Life for Jimmy Duane Roach age 79, of rural Lawton, Oklahoma will be at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the New Life Assembly of God Church, 501 West B Street, Cache, Oklahoma, with Danny El Kouri officiating. Mr. Roach passed away Monday, August 25, 2024, from the results of an automobile accident.
Jimmy Duane Roach was born December 21, 1944, in Buckeye, Arizona to Obed Russell and Lucille H. (Gissendaner) Roach. He attended Cache Public Schools, later attending Cameron University. On May 7,1965, he was united in marriage to Ida Kay Bard at the Wesley Chapel southwest of Lawton. In 1969, he was drafted into the United States Army and was stationed in South Korea during the Vietnam Conflict. Jimmy worked for Southwest Electric in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Panhandle Equipment in Pampa, Texas, prior to moving to Wichita Falls, Texas where he worked for Evans Electric. He and Kay moved to the State of Washington where he worked for the Toshiba Corporation. Jimmy later had the opportunity to work for WEG and was able to travel all over the world. He later retired from WEG. Jimmy was an avid supporter of the Westwin Elements refinery recently constructed in Lawton, Oklahoma. The company is the pioneering force behind America’s first major nickel, cobalt, manganese refinery to help solve America’s critical mineral supply chain.
He is survived by his son, Christopher Duane Roach; three brothers, Eddie Roach and his wife Sandy of Foyil, Oklahoma, Kenneth Roach of Cache, Oklahoma, and Jerry Roach and his wife Janet of Cache, Oklahoma; one sister, Elaine Taylor and her husband Jimmy of Cache, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Nancy Roach of Cache, Oklahoma; one brother-in-law, Ray Bard of Taos, New Mexico; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Obed Russell Roach; his mother, Lucille Roach Bouse; one brother, Ronnie Roach; and his wife, Ida Kay (Bard) Roach who preceded him in death on March 9, 2022.
