Joe Park Brady Jr.
September 16, 2024
Joe Park Brady, Jr. suddenly passed away on September 9, 2024 of sudden cardiac arrest. His loss is completely unexpected, and his family is profoundly saddened.
Joe “OU” Brady was born on February 27, 1950 to Joe and Rebekah Brady in Atlanta, Ga. He was one of three children. Upon graduation from high school, he was drafted into the United States Army and served in the Vietnam War.
Joe married Rose Mary Woommavovah on April 26, 1972 and soon after, planted roots in Lawton, Okla. It was in Lawton, an unfamiliar place, that he began to build a life and family, together with his wife and three children, Joey, Ryan, and Meagan. Joe was a wonderful father and human being. He embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen in his care for his parents-in-law, children, entire family and countless others.
He worked at Goodyear Tire & Rubber company for over 30 years. In fact, he was always proud to wear Badge 131. Many have relayed that he was one of the best bosses they ever had. He accepted everyone with an open heart, open arms, and a perpetual smile. (Well almost everyone. Sorry, no love was lost on Cowboys or Longhorns.) He had immense passion for his family and the Oklahoma Sooners. Game days will never be the same. In his later years, he deepened his relationship with the Lord and poured his heart and soul into the church as well as developed a knack for baking. His cinnamon bundt cake will be missed. Joe was not adventurous. He was a legend. There IS only one Joe Brady.
His departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by his entire family and countless others who loved him deeply.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Rebekah Brady; one sister, Ellen Murray. He is survived by: Rose Mary Brady, of the home; children, Joey and Liz Brady of Cache, Ryan Brady and Chris Long of Lawton, Meagan Brady of Tulsa, and Scott and Kristie Fields of Tucker, Ga. Sister Peggy and Albert Campbell of Brantley, Ala. Grandchildren: Park and Bella Brady, Blake Brady, Alexis Brady, Timothy, Samuel and Jonas Fields. Great grandchildren: Payton, Hayden, and Willow Brady.
Prayer Service was on 6 p.m. Thursday September 12, 2024. Funeral Service was 10 a.m. Friday September 13, 2024. Both services were held at the Comanche Nation Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Ikner officiating.
