Memorial service for Donald Louis Maiberger, 84, of Fletcher, Okla., will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.
Mr. Maiberger passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at his home in Fletcher, Okla..
Donald was born on August 18, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to Louis E. and Nina M. (Wright) Maiberger. He grew up in Detroit where he attended school. After graduating from Southfield High School, Donald joined the United States Army and served his country for over 21 years during Vietnam. He received many awards and medals including the Good Conduct Medal with three Awards, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Devise, the Purple Heart, Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, and the Army Commendation Medal, with third Oak Leaf Cluster. After retiring from the US Army on August 15, 1979, he then began his career with the United States Postal Service where he worked as a postman for many years in the Cache area until his retirement. He married Beverley Mae Rogers on April 30, 1960 in Lawton and they made their home in Cache, Okla. She passed away on March 18, 2013.
He is survived by his son and daughter in law, Thomas and Sabine Maiberger, of Fletcher, Okla.; his daughter, Rhonda Maiberger, of Fletcher; his brother, Robert Maiberger, of Clarkston, Mich.; five grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Beverley; two sons, Edward Maiberger and Ronald Maiberger; his grandson, Connor Maiberger; his sister, Marlene; and his brother, Lou.
