Funeral service for Anita Faye Carter, 74, of Cache, Okla. was at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church, 301 C Avenue, Cache, Oklahoma with Pastor Jack Darnell officiating. Burial followed in the Cache Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home of Frederick. Mrs. Carter entered her Heavenly home on Tuesday evening, Dec. 17, 2024, at her home, surrounded by loved ones.
Anita Faye Moore was born on Dec. 17, 1950, in Lawton, Okla. to William Richard and Evelyn Louise (Ash) Moore. Anita attended Cache Public School, graduating from Cache High School, with the Class of 1968. On April 27, 1968, she and Kenneth Eugene Carter were united in marriage in Cache, Okla. Anita worked as a secretary for the Cache Public Schools for 21 years, retiring in 2005. She enjoyed listening to all types of music but especially loved to sing. She was very active in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. If possible, she would never miss one of their ball games. Anita was a member of the Cache Creek Cowboy Church, east of Lawton.
She is survived by three sons, Richard Carter and his fiancé Leah of Big Spring, TX, James Carter and his wife Sarah of Cache, OK, and Ronnie Carter and his wife Karrie of Cache, OK; two sisters, Rose BK of Lawton, OK, and Tina Prince and her husband David of Lawton, OK; seventeen grandchildren, Sommer Downs and her husband Mike, Kyle Carter, Koby Carter, Macie Carter, Tate Carter, Jessica Ballou and her husband Casey, Lindsey Carter, Haley Fink and her husband Keegan, James Carter, Jr., Cinnamon Flinn and her husband Rocky, Taylor Carter, Ryan Carter, Mark Roach and his wife Samantha, Kelsey Canedo and her husband Jake, Sara Palmer, Trent Palmer, and Kelsey Keiningham; fifteen great-grandchildren, Olivia Lapreze, Mia Downs, Zhavia Downs, Evan Downs, Adrian Goodson, Andre Goodson, Jayden Crosby, Cooper Crosby, Grayson Flinn, Corbyn Flinn, Hannah Moore, Isabel Roach, Beau Roach, Kamden Tullous, and Kayden Tullous; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, W. R. and Evelyn Moore; her husband, Kenneth Carter; one brother, Bill Moore.
