Funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday January 8th, 2025 at the Northwest Church of Christ with Todd McRay officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lawton, OK under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.
Harold Glen McRay, 93, was born the son of John Raymond McRay and Berta Elva (Bagwell) McRay on March 28, 1931 in Holdenville, OK. He died on January 4, 2025 in Lawton, OK. His death marks the passing of the sixth and final McRay family patriarch, following his brothers Charles, Wallace, and John Jr. and his cousins John Robert and Tom.

He graduated from Holdenville High School in the Spring of 1949 and married his high school sweetheart Evelyn W. Dean on August 4, 1952.
He attended Oklahoma State University to study pre-veterinary medicine but transferred to David Lipscomb University, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in biology, after deciding to pursue a career of ministry to the Lord’s church. In pursuit of this career path, he attended Harding University Graduate School and received a master’s degree in Bible with the intent of preaching.
His first full-time work alongside his wife Evelyn was for three years with the Tonkawa Church of Christ in Tonkawa, OK. They then moved to Lawton, Oklahoma where he was the preacher for the Northwest Church of Christ for 40 years, serving from 1957 to 1997. During this time, he spoke in countless gospel meetings, campaigns, lectureships, teacher training seminars, preacher retreats, camps, banquets, and baccalaureates, as well as many other events. He was a charter member of the Camp Lu-Jo Kismif youth camp board of directors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Elva McRay; daughter, Patricia Anne McRay; and brothers, Charles, Doe, and Johnny McRay.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Evelyn; sons, Steve and wife Michelle and Mark and wife Gay; grandchildren, Mandi, Kacee and husband Denver, Natalie and husband Travis, and Austin and wife Emily; great-grandchildren, Jacen, Elliott, Rawley, Blakely, Racine, and Francine; and sisters-in-law Linda and Neva.
