Guy Quetone
February 11, 2025

Guy Quetone II, 71, went to his heavenly home on Monday, Feb. 3, 2025. Guy was born on April 16, 1953, at the Lawton Indian Hospital, to Allen and Pat Quetone, a birthdate he later proudly shared with son, Robert Allen. Guy was an enrolled citizen of the Kiowa Tribe. He was a descendant of Kiowa Chief Stumblingbear, Jimmy Quoetone, and Rev. Guy Quoetone, his very accomplished grandfather, for whom he was named.
Guy’s early years were spent living with his family in Norman and Tulsa, with later school years spent in N.M., S.D., Kan., and Va., as his dad began his career with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Guy excelled throughout his school years, graduating from James Madison High School, in Vienna, VA, with graduation held at Constitution Hall in Washington D.C., his Aunt Wynema Martin and daughter, Norma, attending from Okla., along with family, both highlights for Guy. He received his Associates Degree from El Reno Jr. College, now known as Redlands. His livelihood included working for the Kiowa Tribe, and then settling in Chickasha to work for Delta Faucet Manufacturing for almost 30 years. He was an avid golfer, lettering in golf while in high school, but also loved to hunt with his dad, hunting duck, pheasant, quail, and dove. Guy was also an avid gun collector and could be found at any gun shows across Okla. on any given weekend. But his biggest claim to fame was his 40 Year Chip received from AA with a total of 43 years sobriety. He lived his life engrossed in the AA philosophy, becoming fully engaged in meetings, making lifelong friends in the process, and helping many others along the way. Guy was a true testament to this organization’s ability to save countless lives.
He is survived by his companion, Susan Nahwooksy, Indiahoma, and son, Robert Henry Nahwooksy and wife, Becky of Liberty, Mo., his son, Robert Allen Quetone and wife, Shelby, and grandchild Chupa, from Anadarko, via his marriage to Kathy Lewis, of Anadarko, Siblings — Steven Quetone, of Norman, and Alana Quetone, of Lawton, along with many friends, family, and relatives who will miss him dearly. A special thank you goes out to Clyde and Roxane Nawooksy, of the home, who were instrumental in taking care of Guy and his health needs, as they arose. I know it has not been easy this past year.
He was preceded in death by his parents — Allen Quetone, and Pat Wickliffe Quetone; brothers — Cameron Quetone, Joe Allen Quetone, and nephew, Joshua Tsotigh.
Prayer Service was held at the Comanche Nation Funeral Home, Thurs., Feb. 6, at 6 p.m.
Funeral was held at Mt. Scott Kiowa United Methodist Church, Fri., Feb. 7, at 11 a.m., with a meal immediately following in the Mt. Scott Kiowa UMC Dining Hall. There will be no interment as Guy’s wish to be cremated will be honored.
A healthy Comanche County requires great community news.
