Carlus Clay Coosewoon Jr. went to his heavenly home on Sunday, July 6, 2025 in Oklahoma City, Okla. with his family by his side.
Funeral Service will be at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 14, 2025 at Comanche Nation Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Comanche Nation Funeral Home. Prayer Service will be at 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, 2025 ay Comanche Nation Funeral Home.
He was born to Clay Coosewoon and Claudia (Yeahquo) Coosewoon on December 16, 1981 in Lawton, Okla. He was the middle child and was the apple of his parent’s eye and favorite of his grandfather’s eye. He graduated from Geronimo High where he was on the honor roll throughout high school. In high school he played basketball and baseball where he won many awards. He loved all sports and was a champion pool player and dart player. He was an avid OU Sooners, Dallas Cowboys and OKC Thunder fan. He loved attending, watching and praying for his teams. He always had a positive outlook on life, and loved to laugh with his family and friends. He was employed by the Comanche Nation Housing Authority and Comanche Nation Casino for about for about 25 years. He was a proud member of the Comanche Nation of Oklahoma and a descendent of the Kiowa Tribe. Carlus loved his family and friends dearly. He was always concerned about each and everyone. He walked in obedience with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church in Lawton.
He is survived by his parents: Claudia Coosewoon and Carlus Coosewoon; Brothers: Kenneth Lookingglass, Jr., and Raphie Lee Joshua Coosewoon both of the home; grandparents: Marion and Weldon Simmons, Geronimo; aunts: Jan Stumblingbear, Jody Hathorne, and Dann Devine; uncles: JJ Yeahquo and Rudy Coosewoon; many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Virgil Yeahquo, Rudy Coosewoon, and Betty Crocker; Great Grandparents: Raymond and Violet (Yelllowfish) Nauni and Harold Alfred and Hyacinth (Randolph) Yeahquo.
