Funeral service for Mary E. Fischer, age 94, of Indiahoma, Oklahoma, was held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Peace Congregational Church (25240 SW Baseline Road, Indiahoma, Oklahoma), with Rev. Jim Roberts officiating. Services with Jackson Funeral Home.
She passed away peacefully with her loving sons at her side on Monday, July 6, 2026, at the Harmon Memorial Hospital in Hollis, Oklahoma.
Burial was in the Chattanooga Cemetery under the direction of Jackson Funeral Home.
Mary E. Fischer was born on May 27, 1932, in Chattanooga, Oklahoma, to Orpha and Susie (Butler) Jackson. She graduated as salutatorian from Chattanooga High School with the Class of 1950. In 2026, she was honored as the oldest living alumni of Chattanooga High School.
Mary was united in marriage to Samule H. Fischer on April 28, 1951, in Indiahoma, Oklahoma.
Above all else, Mary was a loving and devoted mother. One of her greatest joys in life was raising Arnold, Leon and Tim. She raised her sons in a loving and supportive home, pouring her time and care into each of them, showing them how to love unconditionally and leaving behind a legacy of kindness and compassion. She was a devoted homemaker and a dedicated partner on the family farm, always maintaining a loving home along with helping Sam with the farming and ranching - whether it was running for parts or bringing meals to the field. Mary seamlessly blended the roles of homemaker, field hand, and caring wife. After Sam died, Mary continued to farm and ranch until 2017, when she retired due to illness. Mary was a member of the Peace Congregational Church.
She is survived by three sons: Arnold Dale Fischer of Cache Oklahoma, Leon Fischer and his wife Cristy of Chattanooga, Oklahoma, and Tim Fischer and his wife Doreen of Indiahoma, Oklahoma; one brother: Jack Jackson; two sisters: Dortha Adler and Grace Wagner; six grandchildren: Taira Fischer-Harless and husband Seth, Trevan Fischer and spouse Lance Radford, Melissa Black and husband James, Jeffrey Fischer, Callee A.F. Jarrett and husband Jansen, and Connor Fischer; ten great-grandchildren: Bradyn Kellam, Kadyn Fischer and fiancé Dallee, Maecy Fischer, Ava Fischer, Jaxon Black, Jace Black, Odetta Jarret, Zack Crossan and Dustin Crossan and Baby J (Dec 2026).
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Sam; three brothers: Donald Jackson, Gene Jackson and Kenneth Jackson; two sisters: Pauline Beavers and Virginia Jones; one daughter-in-law: Jan Fischer; and one grandson: Brannon Fischer.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff at the Harmon Memorial Hospital in Hollis, Oklahoma, especially Kendra Adams, for the exceptional care and compassion they provided Mary with during her time there.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Peace Congregational Church, 25240 SW Baseline Road, Indiahoma, Oklahoma, in memory of Mary E. Fischer.
