Juan Manuel Ureste

Juan Manuel Ureste passed away on August 18, 2026, in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 71, with his loving wife at his side.

Born on August 2, 1955, in Edinburg, Texas, to Noe Uresti and Beatrice Villarreal.

He graduated from Edinburg High School in 1974.

Juan proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, a chapter of his life that reflected his courage, commitment, and sense of duty. His service was a source of pride, and the values he learned during that time remained with him always. He approached life with the same steadfast resolve that guided him in uniform, and he met each season of life with dignity and grace.

Following his service in the United States Marine Corps, Juan dedicated 25 years to the state of Oklahoma before retiring in 2012.

A loving and selfless man, Family was at the center of Juan’s world. He treasured time spent with those he loved and found his greatest happiness in being present for the people who mattered most to him. He valued the outdoors and appreciated the peace and beauty found in nature. Whether he was spending time outside, working with wood, or creating through artistic drawing, he brought thoughtfulness and creativity to everything he did. His hands were often busy, and his mind was always engaged in making, building, and expressing something meaningful.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years Sharon Kay Ureste and step children: Carrie Huyssoon and Arlene Cox both of Cache, Bert Werqueyah III and Carla Bell both of Lawton. 11 Grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; Siblings: Gloria Garza; Rosario Ramos; Rosalinda Uresti; Eloy Uresti; Guallermo Uresti and Ninfa Uresti all of Texas.

Preceded in death by his parents Noe and Beatrice Villarreal Uresti; brother Noe Uresti Jr. and sister Olivia Uresti Garza.
