Janice Gale Christian

A memorial service for Janice Gale Christian was held on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at First Baptist Church in Indiahoma, OK.
Janice passed away peacefully on August 6, 2026, at Integris Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City at the age of 74 with her grandson Riley Barnes by her side.
She was born February 3, 1952 in Independence, Missouri to Holmon “Son” and Jean Hoxey Christian of Indiahoma. Janice was raised in Indiahoma and attended Indiahoma Public School. She attended First Baptist Church and was baptized June 5th, 1960.
Janice work many years fro Dream Valley Aloe Farms and later had a career working for Walmart in Altus until her retirement.
Janice married David Haney of Indiahoma and latter married Ed Wilkerson. They made their home at Cold Springs near Tom Steed Lake and also operated a large greenhouse where Janice made use of her “green thumb” from working at the aloe farm.
Janice is survived by her sons, Allen Barnes of the home and John Haney and wife Melinda of Indiahoma; grandsons Riley Barnes of the home and Jim Haney of Indiahoma; and many cousins and friends, including her neighbor, Keith Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Lisa, David Haney, and Ed Wilkerson.
Janice loved life, her family, and never met a stranger. She loved to travel. She loved researching genealogy for family roots and treasured her trips with cousins Sharon, Connie, and Karen to Arkansas, Smokey Mountains, and Kentucky in search of family history.
She loved her mother’s family in Illinois and oftered talked about them and about her years growing up in Indiahoma.
She will be missed and remembered by all who loved and knew her.
