Clifford Lynn Pennington, always known as C.L., passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024 at the age of 78.

Arrangements are under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

A private family memorial service will be scheduled for a future date.

C.L. was born Dec. 1, 1945 in Burkburnett, Texas to Glenn and Orinthia (Turner) Pennington. He grew up in Oklahoma, the second of six children. He was working across Arkansas on a road project and met the love of his life, Judy Mackey. They were married on May 7, 1966 in Russellville, Arkansas. They were married until her passing in 2021. They lived in Lawton until moving to just outside of Cache in 1986.

He worked at the moving company, Ainsworth Van Lines, then at Hall Building Products for 36 years until his retirement in 2010.

He enjoyed traveling with Judy, Susan and Larry. The four of them had many adventures together. They visited most of the states, always making time for a little casino gambling along the way. He liked watching the Cowboys and the Rangers. He loved growing vegetables in his little garden, a good meal with family and spending time with all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was always ready to help work on your car or your house. He could fix or build just about anything. If he didn’t have or couldn’t find what he needed he could just fabricate it. He made amazing things in his little wood shop. He took great care of his family all of his life and was a shining example of how to live life with honesty, integrity and hard work. He was so very loved and will be missed by all.

Survivors include his two children: April Pike and her husband Merritt of Lawton and Aaron Pennington and his wife Jamie of Cache; seven grandchildren: Bret Miller, Beth Whittington and her husband Charlie, Jessica Costa, AJ Pennington and his wife Brittany, Courtney Hudson and her husband Chris, Wyatt Pennington and Jesse Pennington; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers: Randy Pennington and his wife, Debbie, and Raun Pennington and his wife Tammy, brother-in-law Gary Pierce, sister-in-law Susan Huffman and her husband Larry, nephew, Michael Huffman and his wife Buffie, nieces, Shannon Wayson and Tina Rehm and her husband Sean and other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, parents and three sisters: Bonnie Depue, Connie Pierce and Dixie Fischer.
