Terry Lee Couch

On Friday, September 23, 2022, Terry Lee Couch, affectionately known as
Bull, laid down the implements of this earthly battle and won his eternal
Heavenly reward.
Terry was born on October 22, 1955 in Lawton, OK to Bob and Jeanne
(Allen) Couch. He graduated from Elgin High school in 1973, and achieved
advanced education in San Antonio, TX. His professional career spanned
the gamut from delivery driver to restaurant manager to over-the-road
transport contractor to real estate agent, and more. Terry is always
happiest when he is serving and engaging with people.
On December 23, 1990, Terry Couch and Lee Williams married and
thereafter became Terry & Lee. Together they blended their two families
from previous marriages, Lee's sons, Charlie and Pat, and Terry's
daughters, Courtney and Hillary into one loving, resilient and successful
family.
As a father, Terry's unconditional love and devotion to his children is
surpassed only by that of our Heavenly Father himself. As a husband, he
strives always to be the man he knows his dear Lee deserves. As a friend,
cousin, nephew, uncle, brother, son, grandpa and great-grandpa, there is
no better.
Terry is survived by Lee, his beloved wife of 31 years.
Daughters: Courtney (Josh Dodd,) Hillary (Joel Felberg,) Stepsons: Charlie
Parker (Amy,) Pat Parker (Christina.)
Grandchildren: Madeline, Parker, Jacob, Lillie, Emily, Brandon, Tom, Amber
Barr (Coty,) Bella Parker, Blakely Drumright, Zac Drumright
Great Grandchildren: Hank and Hayes.
His Parents: Jeanne and Bob.
Siblings: Tim (Barbara Gayle,) Kelly (Kristen,) Kim (Gary Rinker.)
Many dear nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and multitude friends
and loved ones.
He is deeply loved and will be so incredibly missed.
In trying to describe Terry's character and personality many lofty terms
come to mind: honorable, trustworthy, kind, loyal, courageous, generous,
good humored. Thing is, he genuinely possesses all of these qualities, and
more. And that, perhaps, is the one term that best encapsulates who Terry
Couch is: genuine.
With Terry, there are no airs, no pretense, no agenda. What you see is truly
what you get, the genuine article. In all his years he never intentionally
caused harm, never meant to hurt anyone's feelings, always chose to do
right because it would never occur to him to do otherwise. But, Terry would
be the first to tell you that he is just an ordinary guy. Which he is, a perfectly
ordinary guy of extraordinary quality.
Terry is also a helper, a true rarity these days. Whenever he hears of a
family member, friend or even acquaintance in a sticky situation he is
always ready to hop in his car or on a plane to travel to whoever and
wherever he can help.
Terry has lived much of his adult life in the Texas coast city of Rockport,
and always refers to crossing over the Red River as going or coming home.
And now, our beloved Bull has once more, "Crossed the Red." He is
surrounded by loved ones gathered to welcome him, his gentle voice and
joyous, infectious laugh resounding through the hall. More than likely, he's
sitting around a worn wooden table playing Texas 42 with Grandma and
Grandpa Couch and Aunt Sue, and regaling all present with the tale of four
wee children, he and his siblings, who once saved all of southwest
Oklahoma in a heroic battle against the pasture fire they accidentally
started while warming their hands on a cold winter's afternoon. No one
could tell the story so well.
Terry and Lee would like to thank Dr. Ronald Bruce, and everyone at
Cornerstone Home Health and Harbor Hospice for their compassionate
care.
In accordance with Terry's wishes there will be no formal services. Should
you wish to celebrate his life he asks that you do so in your own way and in
a manner that will bring happiness to you and yours. Because all Terry ever
truly wanted in life was for those he cares for to be happy.
